Steve Davio, Ph.D., Principal Consultant​

Work:  Over 30 years in the pharmaceutical industry with The Upjohn Company, Pharmacia, Pfizer, Bausch & Lomb, and Davio Pharma Consulting.

  • Extensive experience in CMC due diligence for non-biologics and biologics. 
  • Full-spectrum development experience extending from discovery program design through late-stage development, regulatory approval, and product launch.
  • Leadership experience as CMC technical team leader on conventional drug and bio-pharmaceutical drug development,
  • Experience managing the interfaces of R&D with Global Strategy, Marketing, Regulatory Affairs, Quality, Legal, Clinical, Operations, and Senior Leadership.
  • Broad dosage form experience developing injectable and solid oral dosage forms, small molecule to protein macromolecule active ingredients.
  • Practical experience in out-sourcing and technology transfer,
  • Solid grounding in the pharmaceutical sciences - pharmaceutics, formulation chemistry, drug delivery, pharmacokinetics, biochemistry, and protein chemistry. 
Military:  U.S. Army Medical Research Institute of Infectious Diseases, Captain, developing methods of detection and medical intervention for saxitoxin and tetrodotoxin poisoning.

Education:  Ph.D., Biochemistry, Purdue University; B.S., Physical Science, Michigan State University.
